God Of War 3... Is it lacking?

Ok first things first; I don't have this game. Not yet. I will get this when mostly everyone else gets it on March 16th 2010(Monday midnite). But I have seen and read at least 3-5 reviews so far. what is a given is that this game will offer the same true awesome combat that we come to love, with some of the most amazing visuals this side of Uncharted 2. Gruesome kills to Greek mythology greatest creatures will be more than suffice, not to mention we will be granted substantially good puzzles. What I'm hearing that is somewhat lacking and disconcerting is that the story leaves something to be desired. I mean I have my hopes up for this game. As fan of the series from the get go I want this game to succeed on all levels. I don't want the story of my favorite IP of the past 5years to have a plot hole of the garden variety "Deus ex machina". I'm just saying; maybe I need to stop reading reviews on games that I have a very high expectation of. That way I can make my own hands on observations.
